Booths is helping people fall in love with a limited edition, pink grapefruit marmalade made with heart-shaped peel, this Valentine’s Day.
Each tiny piece of heart-shaped pink grapefruit peel is hand cut by the experts at Wilkin & Sons Limited, who have been producing a wide range of delicious conserves since 1885.
The inspiration for the Tiptree Pink Grapefruit Marmalade came from Cumbrian schoolgirl, Katy Mason, who won a marmalade-making competition at Dalemain Mansion & Historic Gardens, near Penrith in Cumbria.
Dalemain is home to the annual Marmalade Festival and attracts over 500 entries to the marmalade competition each year.
Katy’s idea of cutting the peel into little heart shapes has now been adapted by Wilkin & Sons Limited and turned into novelty marmalade in time for Valentine’s Day.
Wilkin & Sons Limited sponsored Dalemain’s Marmalade Festival in 2009 and will again in 2010. The Essex-based company was also a former judge for the marmalade-making competition.
The special limited edition Tiptree Pink Grapefruit Marmalade is now available in Booths stores priced at only £2.49 per jar.
